Sentimental Journey honors WWII veterans at Loray Mill event

Nine Gaston County World War II veterans returned to their service era at Loray Mill Penegar Event Hall for a 1940s style cocktail party and dance. The Kessel History Center and Preservation North Carolina organized the Salute to the 40s, marking the Firestone mill’s 1944 Army Navy Award milestone and its governor observed ceremony.
