Dallas police report two trick-or-treating incidents with metal objects found in candy. One pin-like piece in bubble gum, another unknown metal fragment. Cases from Halloween night and the following morning under review as candy is sent to a state laboratory for analysis. Detectives will notify manufacturers and review lab results. no wrongdoing proven yet.
In Gastonia, relatives of Bridget and T J Berry watched as Peter James Rivers Jr. faced a two count first degree murder case. Rivers, held without bond for over eight months, sat staring at the floor and offered no apology. Superior Court Judge Jesse Caldwell set bond at See RIVERS Page 3A.
