Fifteen state and local candidates in Gaston County report raising or investing over 445000 this year. Sheriff Alan Cloninger alone accounts for 192095 or 43 percent of the total as campaigns show wide gaps in fundraising between contenders such as District Court Judge candidate Mike Sands and challenger Gus Anthony.
