Grandson publishes WWII letters from grandparents love story
Matthew Tessnear, from Alexis in Gaston County now living in Kings Mountain, releases a self-published book "Wherever You May Be The World War II Letters of a Soldier and his Sweetheart" built from handwritten love letters his grandparents exchanged during World War II. The letters, found in a sewing bag fifteen years ago, reveal their romance and a view of young love amid war. Tessnear emphasizes how the letters offered intimate insight into his grandparents, Lois McCombs Tessnear and Harry Tessnear, and their wartime experiences.
