Police from Gastonia and the county sheriff and Bessemer City searched the 605 North Seventh Street home for a shooting suspect around 1 p.m. Sunday after a 11:30 a.m. incident. No injuries were reported, and officers awaited a search warrant while not releasing the suspect’s name.
Pamela Fulton and Jackie Badger described a man who came to their Gaston County homes hours before a neighbor was robbed at gunpoint. He asked to use a phone, wore earbuds, and later tied Badger at gunpoint as she searched for help. Police say the suspect is in Gaston County Jail on robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, and breaking and entering charges.

A police pursuit began after a Wal-Mart theft on N C 73. A gold SUV fled, prompting deputies to pursue on N C 16. The vehicle crashed near the N C 273 exit. Four occupants, all under 18, were hospitalized. One 17 year old, Daniel Dockery of Charlotte, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges and a $20,000 bond. Other names and charges were not released.
Alyssa Pressler reports three residents from Sumpter Stanley were charged with larceny of a 2003 Ford Ranger and a 2005 Toyota Camry. The Camry is valued around 3000 dollars and the Ranger about 2000. Taylor and Sumpter jailed on 30000 bond, Boyd on 15000.
