Gun debate stalls as filibuster fails to move Congress
In Washington a 15 hour Democratic filibuster led by Senator Chris Murphy and colleagues failed to break the election year stalemate on gun legislation. Republicans led by Mitch McConnell dismissed the effort as campaign talk while Democrats pressed for action after the Florida nightclub shooting. Both sides prepared for dueling votes starting Monday, with expectations of failure.
