Dakota Access pipeline begins commercial service in Bakken system
Dallas based Energy Transfer Partners said the 1200 mile Dakota Access line carrying North Dakota oil to Illinois started commercial service. The $3.6 billion project is part of the $4.8 billion Bakken Pipeline system that ETP values at about 20,000 barrels daily and pledges safer, cost effective transport compared with rail or truck. The company noted no waterways were affected by leaks reported in March and April.
