Cancellation of Roseanne ends a controversial season
ABC quickly cancelled Roseanne Barr after a racist tweet targeting Valerie Jarrett, calling the act abhorrent and inconsistent with Disney values. The move followed Barr's apology and reflected a broader corporate stance on bias and decency amid rising social scrutiny. The decision impacted Disney’s stock and sparked debate over free speech versus responsible branding.

He says diplomas signal ability more than teach job skills, tuition rises faster than inflation, and liberal arts may not boost learning. Caplan notes few gains after four years and praises tenured professors for stability. John Stossel presents the discussion.
