Salvation Army ends downtown Gastonia feeding program

The Salvation Army will stop providing hot meals after August 31 as its emergency shelter closes. The weekday breakfast and dinner service serves about 50 each evening and under 10 at breakfast, costing $85,000 annually. Community partners plan a breakfast grab and go to fill the gap.
