Gastonia unveils new public transportation service
Gastonia introduced a city on demand microtransit system with 14 minivans replacing six bus routes. The fare starts at $2 for a one way trip with reduced $1 rates for seniors and disabled riders. Service is accessed via the GoGastonia app or by phone at 704-753-7439. The city expects to expand coverage beyond current bus routes and notes about 144000 bus trips annually.
