Supporters have waited two decades for funding to redevelop the Loray Mill. After a $20 million FHA loan approval in 2011, CAMDEN must close the sale from Preservation North Carolina. Officials say progress is steady, though slower than hoped, with Phase 1 adding 190 Class A units and 78,000 square feet of commercial space.
