Gaston County woman threatens Gaston County Police building
Armanda Una-Karrim Barnes, 37, walked the Gaston County Police Department lot early Sunday then returned with a gas can and lighter and threatened to blow up the building. Officers subdued her at the front desk. she is jailed on a 500000 dollar bond for attempting malicious damage to a government building.

Elections board seeks MIA voters card mail confusion

Why the Elections Board Sends Verification Cards
The Board of Elections mails verification cards to contact registered voters who have had no contact with the board in the past two federal elections or four years. They want to confirm the name on the registration remains valid. If you receive a card with an unfamiliar name, return it with a note stating unknown or return to sender. This triggers a second mailing, then the person may be marked inactive and eventually removed from rolls.
