Gaston County schools close for icy days with three hour delay
Gaston County public schools kept students home for three days this week due to icy roads. Grandmother Phyllis Lowery cared for five grandchildren ages 3 to 16 while parents worked in Charlotte and west Gastonia. Day care enrollment rose and costs included 35 dollars to enroll and 25 dollars per day for care from 7 30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Springfield.
