Sprinkler Ice Behind Lowell Crash Leaves Blame Open
Linda Bates, 59, drove on Hudson Boulevard near The Villages at Ballantyne, December 27, when a sprinkler iced the road while temperatures were in the 20s. Her 1994 Toyota pickup skidded, hit a guardrail and a tree, causing about $5,000 in damage plus hospital bills. Police say the icy road caused the wreck. no one knows who turned on the sprinkler. Bates suffered minor injuries.
