Man pleads guilty in 8 year sentence for police home shooting
Bradley Gene Mellon, 28, of Lndale, agreed to District Attorney Locke Bell’s plea to avoid a longer sentence after firing at a Gaston County Police officer’s home near Cherryville on Aug 28. Four people were inside. an infant was nearly hit. Mellon claimed bias in the system and said he wished he was on drugs. He was arrested after a police chase across Cleveland and Lincoln counties eight days later.
