Ralpheas Kennedy, a 24 year old North Gaston High School alumnus and father, was struck by bullets on Carpenter Street near South Davis in Dallas. He was hospitalized at CareMont Regional Medical Center in critical condition and placed on a ventilator as investigators seek the shooter. Family members described him as a hard worker who earned a commercial driver's license and drove trucks to support his 2 year old son Carson. The shooter remains at large.
Noah Empson a Mount Holly fourth grader started a business named Canned to roll trash and recycling bins to and from the curb for neighbors. He charges 5 a month and has eight customers with plans to grow to about 20. He works after school on Tuesdays and aims to expand to additional neighborhoods with his mother promoting the service on social media.
