Fire destroys home. couple hospitalized due to smoke inhalation
A Mount Holly couple escaped a fast moving blaze at 136 Fox Trail Drive in the Lucia community but both were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and burns. The home is a total loss, believed accidental with no working smoke detector in place. Fire officials noted cold, 9 degree conditions hampered efforts and advised residents to request free detectors from Gaston County fire departments.
