State officials blast restoration of grant to nonprofit group
Greensboro area nonprofit Guilford County Community Action Program led by councilman Earl Jones had its grant restored after auditors questioned about $700,000 in expenses and the state DHHS had suspended funding. Federal officials say states may err while protecting taxpayer money and note a hearing was offered.
