North Carolina tops regional air pollution study

North Carolina bears the majority of regional air pollution in a decade long study of the Southern Appalachian region. The research shows most pollution originates within the state, not from out of state, and calls for a regional strategy to cut emissions and haze.

Marines Train In Realistic Urban Warfare At Camp Lejeune

At Camp Lejeune a Marine unit named the Anti-Terrorism Brigade conducts a two week urban terrain drill. Marines crawl through sewer tunnels and move through a mock town aiming for a church without being spotted. The setup includes a church condominiums city hall strip mall ambassador residence a 130 room hotel and a soccer field. Semunition rounds sting the body when they hit though they are non lethal and do not cause death.
