Gastonia to rank next resurfacing projects after bond funds run out
A voter approved bond funded resurfacing of over 50 streets in Gastonia with all but two completed. The city plans a prioritized list for future work, contingent on new local and state funding. Assistant City Manager Flip Bombardier says July 1 budget will add more resurfacing money and batching projects into one contract. The city maintains about 312 miles of city streets and 100 miles of state roads with daily spot repairs and longer term fixes as needed.
