Gaston student named advisor to North Carolina State Board of Education
South Point High School junior Grace Russell was appointed as a non voting student adviser to the North Carolina State Board of Education by Gov. Pat McCrory's office. She will attend monthly meetings, review materials, and prepare a student focused presentation on topics such as testing and school calendars. Russell spoke at the April 1 board meeting about standardized testing and aims to provide a genuine high school student perspective.
