Mom accuses shooting of kids says it was accident
Tina Payne faces attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon after an Aug. 4 incident in which police say she held a .22 revolver to her daughter’s head. Her son and daughter were struck by a bullet as a brother wrestled the gun away. Payne claims the shooting was an accident and that she was not conscious of her actions. Defense notes paranoia and alleged mental illness at the time, while the judge urged cooperation with counsel. Payne previously harmed herself after the incident.
