Duke fans greet two time champions as coach Mike Krzyzewski hints at a possible third title. Duke defeated Michigan 71 to 51 to become the first team in 19 years to win consecutive NCAA basketball titles amid jubilant campus and regional celebrations.
Lynn Gibson reports Michelle Johnson, 22, carried a pistol after a late night drive when tailed by a man in a dark blue car flashing a blue light on NC 27. Johnson chased to Stanley Police Department, saying she would have shot if confronted. The suspect halted as other traffic approached.
With New York and Kansas votes counted Clinton led but margins failed to settle the nomination race. Tsongas, who had withdrawn, placed second in New York with 29 percent and third in Wisconsin with 22 percent, prompting speculation he might reenter. Brown finished third in New York as results showed Clinton at 40 percent (162 delegates), Brown 28 percent (99), Tsongas 25 percent (100).
