The Gallup Chamber of Commerce will survey Gallup’s commercial and industrial resources. Secretary manager Robert J. Pritchard says forms will collect total capital, payrolls, number of workers, and average business volume, with strict confidentiality for individuals.
Gov. George Curry was struck in the instep when a revolver knocked from L. Talmadge's hand discharged in a Champeau hotel room. Curry, an innocent bystander, suffered a painful wound but is resting better. warrants will be sworn for Talmadge's arrest. Curry planned to leave Socorro for Washington to take a government position.
Governor Mechem signed the memorial requested by the executive committee of the American Legion. The measure, approved unanimously by the senate and house, asks Congress to pass pending air service legislation to aid ex service men and reorganize military service by creating a separate air department akin to the Navy.
A Washington Post report by Harry N Price predicts Senator Albert B Fall of New Mexico will join Warren G Harding's cabinet as interior secretary. Last Saturday night a shooting affray occurred on Railroad Avenue near the James pool hall. Several shots were fired but no one was killed. Recarte Montoya and Bar ney P Silva were arrested. Montoya faced a serious charge and was bound over in 1000 to await grand jury action before Judge Schauer.

Samuel S Dixon a U S Government Diplomatic Service officer visited Gallup this week marking his first return in years. He spoke on North South American trade potential noting U S loss from not pursuing South American markets and observed South American prohibition effects on transportation. Dixon lived abroad in Paraguay and Europe and said he prefers the United States over foreign soil. He stayed with Giles Master and family, with ties to the Banner Drug Store.
