Shot By Playmate In Wallingford Tragedy
In Wallingford Connecticut June 25 a 14 year old boy Ewald Schipke was shot and killed near his home by a 12 year old playmate Albert Staniaski who now faces coroner's investigation. Schipke son of John Schipke serving in France the boys were out for target practice when the Staninski boy allegedly turned and fired the rifle hitting Schipke in the mouth.

Canadians Raid German Trenches Take 22 Prisoners
General Haig reports in the war office bulletin that Canadians last night cleared Neuville Vitasse trenches capturing 22 prisoners and six machine guns. Heavy fighting and gas shelling occurred near Mer and south of Avion and Villers-Brettoneux with continued bombardment.
