Connecticut Sets 10 Hour Day For Working Children

Supreme Court ruling leaves federal law void in regard to child labor. Connecticut adopts state rules allowing 10 hour workdays for certificated minors in manufacturing and 10pm limit in mercantile settings, with weekly totals of 55 and 58 hours respectively. A State Board of Education representative will hold sessions in June at the Municipal Building to assist students, with guardians required to accompany, bring a birth certificate, written employment promise, and school transcript showing grade and age.

Army Casualty List Totals 73 as War Dept Reports

Washington reports seventy three American expeditionary forces casualties with seventeen killed in action nine died of wounds seven from disease two from aeroplane accidents one from accident and other causes and thirty two wounded severely four wounded and one missing in action. Officers named include Lieutenants Eddy Galloway Trees and Kendall and Major Shoultz with others listed among noncommissioned ranks and privates. prisoners previously reported missing also noted. Names cover multiple states and foreign addresses across a long roster.
