Middletown explores memorial bridge and park growth plan
At an executive committee meeting Colonel T McDonough Russell outlined a vision for a memorial bridge from Chapman Hill across Sumner Creek linking Crescent to Main Street. The plan includes roadway embankments, a future city park system filling meadowland, sewer improvements, a semi circular dam to curb odors, and a Farm Hill corridor road linking South Farms to Mill Street. A Farm Hill Lakeview trolley could reach the city via Crescent Street, boosting district development and potentially city town consolidation.
