Burial of Chief Schuettler in Chicago Monday

Chicago August 24 Chief of Police Herman F Schuettler will be buried Monday morning. The body will lie in state for two hours. An escort of 1000 policemen will march in the funeral procession. Eight police captains will act as pallbearers.

Train Wreck Kills Fireman Near Jersey City

Fireman Edward Ericsson of Scranton Pennsylvania was killed when a ten car empty troop train derailed after striking a switch and collided with a light locomotive near the Jersey City heights at the Delaware Lackawanna and Western crossing. Two other crew members from Scranton, Engineers H Bockheimer and Trainman Cortie Biesecker, sustained minor injuries.
