Ralph Van Vechten longtime banker and financier of Cedar Rapids and Chicago died in Chicago at age 64 after heart disease and extended illness. He led the State Bank of Chicago as president and chaired Cedar Rapids National Bank while supporting Home for Aged Women and other causes. Born August 29 1862 in Mattawan Michigan he began banking in Cedar Rapids after moving with his family at age 15.
