Allied forces in Macedonia advanced four and a half miles to a depth of 16 miles and captured 4 000 prisoners. The operation aims to sever Turkey from the Central Powers and crush Bulgaria while aiding Serbia and other Balkan nations.
Washington report states General March told the house appropriations committee that the American military program would reach 4.8 million by July, 101 percent. In London the British made gains northwest of St. Quentin with several villages captured and areas near Holnon wood threatened.
Report from Lorra ine says German machine gunners and bombers attacked west of Vandlers last night but mist and low clouds hindered them. German aircraft were located and driven back by anti aircraft fire. Attempts to attack the American lines near Moselle Tuesday failed as they were repelled by American fire.
A call from the government asks the local Red Cross to collect used clothing for Belgian relief. The drive starts on the 21st and runs through the 30th. A committee will supervise, and a central collection point will be arranged with further details to follow.
