Mexican horse theft leads to capture after chase

Deputies Hewitt and Batton pursued two Mexican riders, Yenc Ortiz and Candelario Chacon, after a horse disappeared from a town stable. The pursuit ended in Three Mile Canyon with the Mexicans surrendering after a standoff. One horse was killed, another saddle horse recovered, and authorities jailed the suspects awaiting grand jury action. A second horse belonging to A J Hitchcock was also reported stolen that night.

Deputies from the United States marshal's office seized the Industrial Workers of the World headquarters in Denver Colorado this afternoon as part of a raid. The action was reported by the Associated Press.

An official statement from London says a hostile raiding party was driven off by fire from lines and machine guns near Armentieres. A late raid against Portuguese positions also failed. German artillery was active around Lens.

Moonlight Raid Kills Nine in London

London reports a moonlit air raid killing nine and injuring forty nine. A raider was reportedly shot down near Speerions as bombs struck near a hospital a theatre and a sleeping retail staff. Later counts show eleven killed and sixty two injured.
