Washington June 27 officials conducted a ceremonial drawing to determine the order of youths born in 1900 for military service. Secretary Baker blindfolded drew the first capsule, number 246, as boards marked and photographed the sequence with Crowder and lawmakers present.
American forces captured a number of prisoners and seized eleven machine guns ten automatic rifles and other arms in action near the Marne on June 27 as reported by the Associated Press.
