Bread ration protests roil Austria Hungary in upheaval

News out of Vienna reports immense anger over reduced bread rations with protests across the dual monarchy. Rioters damaged property and authorities consider martial law as cavalry moves to restore order. Front reports from Piave and Montello show Austrians holding and prisoner losses rising. Stockyards to Be Put Under Federal License

President Wilson prohibits stockyards from operating without a Federal license. By proclamation, all stockyards nationwide must obtain a license from the Food Administration by July 25. Commission men order buyers traders speculators and scalpers in live cattle sheep swine goats must secure a license.

A strike at Curtiss aeroplane and motor corporation main plant began at ten this morning with two hundred workers laying down tools. union leaders say other plants will follow at noon. The walkout seeks an eight hour day and Navy yard level wages. Washington reports Army casualties at seventy three.
