London officials reported a German air raid as fifteen airships crossed the city early in the day. The raid prompted anti aircraft fire and aerial combat. The Earl of Derby announced in Parliament that forty nine people were killed and two hundred injured.
Associated Press reports a forty member Russian commission headed by ambassador Borisa Bakmatt landed at a Pacific port and will travel to Seattle before heading to Washington Paris. General Pershing also landed at Boulogne today en route to Paris.
Paris reports the South Atlantic liner Sevuana sunk in the Atlantic with 190 lives lost. Among the passengers were a detachment of Ceylonese riflemen.
Cable advices state that the Leyland liner Angelia, which left Boston for Liverpool on May 20, was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine. The sinking is reported to have occurred in the Atlantic with loss of life feared.
