General Harrison Gray Otis Dies. LA Times Founder

Gen Harrison Gray Otis longtime Los Angeles Times president and founder died at his home after a life of military service spanning the Civil War Spanish American War and extensive political and publishing work. He led units in the Civil War and in the Philippines campaign and built the Times into a major paper. He survived by two daughters from his marriage to Minerva Wahaus and several grandchildren.
