British steamship Mirlo torpedoed off Cape Hatteras
The British steamship Mirlo was torpedoed off Cape Hatteras last night and nine crew members drowned. Coast guards saved all others after the torpedo struck amidships and exploded the gasoline cargo forcing the crew to jump overboard.
