Reported multiple fatalities and serious injuries from two separate auto crashes. In Vermont a party returning from a G A R encampment near Rutland collided with a fence and overturned, killing Mrs Alvn M Teachout of Montpelier and badly injuring others including her husband. Adelbert Persons of Cally sustained a broken nose and a dislocated shoulder. Injured were treated at Stevens House in Vergennes. In New Hampshire a 16 year old, William Aber, was killed in Hartford when struck by a car driven by George H Ribli of West Lebanon after turning toward the vehicle.

Barracks in Letrim and four places burned by masked bands

While repairing the First National bank building workmen unearthed a 40 year old burglar alarm tied to the rear. The device, adjusted to fire blank cartridges by electricity if the vault was tampered with, exploded when dropped, startling workers and locals. The alarm had not been connected to the vault for four years.
