Forest and Stream Club Plans Banquet in May
The Caledonia County Forest and Stream Club will hold its annual banquet at Pythian Hall on Tuesday May 18. Dr Willard Scott of Reston will speak on the day’s topic and is described as a 100 percent entertainer. The event aims to promote stocking brook trout and other game fish and invites fathers to bring their sons for membership and stewardship of local fish and sport.

Death of Mrs Sibyl S Hallett Rites Held at Center
Mrs Sibyl Shevin Hulett wife of Lt H Hallett died suddenly at her daughter Mrs Henry Gallagher s home in St Johnsbury Center after a period of illness she had been active recently and attended church with her daughter The longtime St Johnsbury Center resident she was a member of Wide Awake Grange No 66 Shenheel Pomona Grange Vermont State and National Grange The funeral was conducted by Rev Grint of East St Johnsbury and she is survived by her husband son Alton Hallett and three daughters among others her passing drew many friends and floral tributes.

Newport Plans Memorial Day Observance in City
A Newport committee chaired by Mayor James T. Gardner outlines Memorial Day events.
