Alcock and Brown Complete First Nonstop Atlantic Flight
Capt John Alcock and Lt Arthur Brown landed on the Irish coast after a 16 hours 12 minutes non stop flight from Newfoundland to Clifden Ireland aboard the Vickers Vimy. The journey was marked by fogs and mists with the aircraft climbing to 11 000 feet and skimming near the sea before a bog landing.
