John Wilfred Turner a traveling salesman for A Cox Shoe Co was struck by a Central Vermont Mount express at a crossing near the Barre golf links while driving a Dodge runabout from Beige to Montpelier. He suffered a fractured leg and a badly cut head and was taken to Heaton Hospital Montpelier where his condition improved by evening raising hope for recovery. His wife is at their Portland street home with local boarding.
