Leonard Root and Olive C. Rood were married Friday night at the Methodist parsonage by Rev. Geo A. Martin. The couple's families, including Mr Edge and Mrs Peterson, received word that their son Raymond Peterson has arrived in New York tonn overseas. Mrs Peterson, formerly of the 207th Co Tank Corps, has been ill in the hospital for four months with pneumonia and a relapse. He hopes to obtain discharge and return home.

The 23d annual meeting of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the St. Johnsbury district met May 28 in Newport Vermont. Miss Dorothy Richard spoke on Chile work while delegates from auxiliaries offered suggestions. Officers elected included President G Leon Weiss Richford and Treasurer M A Turney Barton. Miss Clara Collier, with 28 years in China, gave an evening address on her Yangtze journey and Chengti work amid pleasant lake town hospitality.

Connecticut River Power to Expand Vernon Plant Capacity
Connecticut River Power Co plans a $1,000,000 addition at the Vernon power plant financed by Power Construction Co of Worcester. Two new single runner units of 6,000 kilowatts each will be installed to boost capacity by 10,000 kilowatts while river flow limits keep output from rising 50 percent. Project, to be overseen by superintendent Robert Doring, will employ Brattleboro workers and crews with a boarding house and camp built for employees.
