Women of the club celebrated Washington's birthday at the Goodrich Library with period costumes and displays of rare jewelry and embroideries. Hostesses led a novel program with songs, readings, and a 175 year old elbow melodeon, ending with a dance by Mrs Puffer's chairs.

Sudden Death of Mrs Emma Montgomery in St Johnsbury
Mrs Emma Montgomery died of heart failure after a sudden illness at St Johnsbury Hospital, where she had gone from Cherry Street. Born September 20, 1866 in St Johnsbury, she was married to Charles C. Montgomery, who died in 1917. She leaves a son Carroll and daughter Virginia Meigs, plus two grandchildren Carlyle and Gertrude Weston. Funeral Sunday at 2 PM from the YM C A building, conducted by Rev Poole.

Masons Honor 50 Past Masters Service Night at the Temple
Past Masters night at Passumpsic Lodge No. 27 drew over 200 Masons and honored 4 percent World War I veterans along with three Civil War veterans and three Spanish American War veterans. Worshipful Master Birney L. Hall presided as Past Masters chaired the ceremony with Homer E. Smith and John F. Puffer receiving Master Mason ranks. The event featured a Temple quartet and orchestra with solos, music, and a charge to newly received candidates.
