Hartford Licenses Hearings On Spirituous Liquor Requests
Windsor county board of liquor commissioners held a public hearing in Hartford with large opposition. Commissioners Trainor Taylor and Davis heard applicants and opponents. The board announced no second class licenses would be granted and decisions on other applications would be made in Hartford. Hartford is the only Windor county town with license applications. two Windsor licenses have been denied.

Body of Herbert Reynolds Found on Georgia Shore
The 22 year old Herbert Reynolds of St Albans disappeared November 15 last year. His father found his body in shallow water on the Georgia shore behind the Reynolds home after spotting shoes in the water. He is survived by parents three sisters and one brother.

City Honor Roll Tag Day nets Burlington effort
Burlington held a Tag Day to fund a permanent City Hall Park honor roll inscribing 1148 names. The drive raised 1244.12 dollars from about 8500 to 9000 tags, with average gifts around 30 to 35 dollars, mostly in silver, collected by 85 young ladies. The total cost is about 1500 dollars and the gift will complete the Burlington roll.

Burleson Favours Return of Atlantic Cable
Washington April 29 General Burleson urged President Wilson to return ocean cables to their owners and to restore the telegraphs and telephones as well. High authority says the recommendations have been submitted and approved by the President. The proposals were discussed in a long cable to the President from the Postmaster General.

Mrs Emily Lois Sprague Arnold wife of Lyndon Arnold died at home on Eastern Avenue after a long illness. Born June 22 1846 in North Danville she married Arnold November 11 1864 and lived in Lyndon Corner then St Johnsbury. Survived by two grandchildren Claude and Vera and one great grandchild Lyndon C. Demobilization Rush Ends Service for Yankee Division
Nearly 9,000 soldiers from the 101st 103rd and 104th Regiments of the Yankee division left military life after 18 months of service. Discharges began at 7 a.m. with the 101st engineers first, then the infantry units, as cantonment gates emptied and final pay and papers were issued. The day saw rapid demobilization and disbanding of remaining units.

Seaplane Falls Over Charles River Killing One
A Curtis F' seaplane owned by the New England Airplane Company of Cambridge dived nosefirst from about 100 feet into the Charles River near Cottage Farm bridge. One man, J. Lester Allen, 28, of Dorchester, was killed. Ensign W. Elliott Nightingale, married, of Boston, was severely injured but listed as expected to recover at City Hospital.
