Five Year Old Survives River Fall Near Passumpsic
Norman Blay five, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Bay of Concord Avenue, fell into the Passumpsic river on Thursday afternoon. Swept a hundred feet by swift current, he rescued himself by paddling and clawing to the bank before walking home to relate the miraculous escape. A physician treated him for shock and he recovered sufficiently to return home. The incident occurred on the swing bridge near O V Hooke and Sons, where the water was about four feet deep.

Newport Voters Approve Armory Construction Funding
In Newport the city session gathered at the school Thursday evening and voted unanimously to appropriate funds for a new armory with city offices and more room.
