Alfalfa Seed Trials Advise Best Varieties for Dry Climate
E P House of Greeley tested 35 alfalfa types on a dry farming tract northwest of Greeley. Results rank Medicago Falata, Sand Lucerne, Minnesota, Turkestan and others by climate adaptation. Not cutting the first year produced the strongest growth and deepest roots, suggesting a no cut in year one for best stands. House plans to propagate Medicago Falata seed locally and has received high praise from government officials.

Weather Notes From the Valley Ahead of Spring
The Valley experienced a blustery April week with intermittent showers and snow flurries. Through Sunday to Tuesday the wind shifted and colder air left the ground lightly snow covered, while each day grew warmer and drier with improving conditions.
Estancia Show Troupe Delights Local Audiences
Estancia residents enjoyed a stock company performance led by Chan Laughlin Castell as Guitarist and Vocalist and Prof Bassi the Ventriloquist. The troupe, with its actors and accompaniments, toured Saturday Monday and Tuesday nights featuring varied reviews from good to indifferent.

Democratic Territorial Conventions Planned in 1908
The Torrance County Democratic executive committee calls for a territorial convention at Roswell New Mexico on June 10 1908 to elect delegates to the National convention in Denver and nominate a candidate for the Sixty First Congress. A county convention at Estancia on May 16 1908 will elect delegates to the territorial convention. Precinct committees must hold precinct conventions on May 9 1908.

April 340 Homestead Filings Show Busy Local Land Office
