Governor Curry telegraphed President Taft offering immediate resignation as territory’s chief executive after friction over Washington criticism and lack of full administration support. James A. Long buys the relinquishment of William Hammonds northwest of Estancia for 725 dollars. At a Monday directors meeting Estancia Public Service Company decided to move the derrick and drill a new hole to rock at about 500 feet with a drop drill through fifteen feet of rock. A stockholders meeting is set for next Monday afternoon in the Library Rooms of the Methodist church with officer elections and proxies urged.
Willard residents Nellie J Paddleford and J N Underwood wed yesterday afternoon at the Valley Hotel officiated by Judge J E Braxton. Mr and Mrs Underwood reside south of the Cut Off. Berkshire of the same hotel served as witnesses. The News offers congratulations.
B. T. Johnson of Killyn Alabama and his daughter Lola Johnson of Woods Whunty Oklahoma arrived Monday. Johnson has taken up residence on his homestead adjoining that of his brother Dar B Johnson, Alabama.
