Teachers Hear Good Papers at Torrance County Meeting
Torrance County teachers gathered last Saturday February 27 in Estancia for a well attended meeting. Misses Catherine Hill Mary Lobb Ola Gilbert Armend Young Cora Kelley Lela McHan Zella Roberts Minnie Laws Anna Collins Belle Guinn Mrs Stella Palmer Mrs Edna Ford and Supt C L Burt were present along with J H Crawford W W Walls and W R Shelton. The program featured papers on Story Telling and its Uses in the Schoolroom by Anna Collins and Armend Young and on School Discipline by Ole Gilbert and W W Walls, plus discussions on character development and world events with papers read by Cathrine Hill and J S Ferguson.

The association held a brief session and discussed Superintendent Burt's proposal to hold the summer Institute in Mountainair during the Chautauqua. No vote occurred, but teachers openly expressed strong opposition to the plan.

Probate Court Grants Admin For Deceased Daughter’s Estate

Woodmen Camp Formed at Mountainair With Seventeen Members
District Organizer A C Eubank opened a Camp of Modern Woodmen at Mountainair on Tuesday night. Seventeen charter members and eight transfer members joined. An Estancia Camp team assisted in the initiation and installation. House Passes 3-Gent Fare Bill in Territorial Legislature
The Territorial House approved by 16 to 8 a bill setting a maximum railroad fare of three cents per mile. It remains uncertain if the measure will reach the council.
