Reckless Russel and other acts headlining Estancia Valley fair shows

The Commercial Club plans a four day Territorial Pair in Albuquerque style event with Hatcher Russell Shows bringing a complete street show lineup and stunts. The dash of Reckless Russel features a one legged daredevil on a bicycle diving into a shallow pool from a foot plane. A brass band will provide music October 1 through 4 and agricultural displays will showcase pumpkins corn cabbage and other crops with Estancia Valley products aiming for top vegetables prizes.

Mounted Police Report Shows 153 Arrests in New Mexico

Santa Fe August report by Captain Fred Fornoff for the year ending May 21, 1907, records 153 arrests by the New Mexico mounted police. The force of eleven men cites arrests for sheep, cattle, and horse theft, pistol carry, murder, game law violations, fugitives, and other offenses, with several counties listing ten or more arrests. About 500 stolen animals were recovered, and three months show heightened activity including murder cases.

Father and son gain UNM admission after exams

Goes to University Acasio Gallegos, returned from Albuquerque last Monday, where he took his son Acasio to attend the winter session of the University of New Mexico. He was appointed under the late legislature by county commissioners. The young man passed his entrance examinations with credit to himself and his father, who has taught him in grade school. Eddie Dow, ill at the Dow residence on Williams Avenue, is reported improving as fever left him the night before last.

Santa Fe Central No 2 in Wreck Near Progresso

Train No 2 northbound ran into a ditch two miles from Progresso due to a broken engine axle. No serious injuries reported though passengers endured a rough jolt. Wrecking crews from Estancia repaired the line after hours as engine 15 was brought in to continue to Santa Fe.

Threatening Letter Sent to Local Businesswoman

A businesswoman in Stan eia received an anonymous letter by post promising dire vengeance and even her life over an alleged crime, with the writer denounced as ignorant. Authorities state severe punishment awaits the offender and are pursuing leads to bring them to justice.

Lew is back after camp for Ep. W. C. Walker buys Carrizozo lots

The text notes the return of Lew and the camp life for the children. It states W. C. Walker left Esia with Mr. Lewis, purchased land at Carrizozo, and is building a residence there. A family has moved northwest of town so children can attend school.

The McIntosh community prepares a well staged musical tomorrow night with a large attendance expected. Residents have expressed enthusiasm and arrangements are described as splendid. The program features an array of solos duets readings and instrumental pieces across two parts with local names like Soper Bruner McClain Perkins and McClay.
