Fourth Fire Destroys Estangia Box Factory Planing Mill
A blaze at the English Manufacturing Company in Estangia destroyed the Box Factory and Planing Mill, gutted the main building, and damaged a partially loaded box car of the New Mexico Central. Watchman Proctor Madole and Elmer Adair alerted responders after locating the fire around 11 PM Monday night. About three thousand dollars worth of finishing lumber stored in the building also perished.

Atkinson Returns From Health Trip to Albuquerque
County Treasurer M B Atkinson arrived home in poor condition after weeks at Jemez Springs for health reasons. An abdominal abscess forced a departure to Albuquerque for medical care. After a seventy mile drive he underwent an operation and grew very weak. He returned Sunday morning and has been steadily improving with many friends hoping for a swift recovery.

Estancia Planing Mills Fire Hurts New Plant
English Planing Mills east of Estancia escaped major damage to the engine room due to a cement building. The factory, started July 1909, was nearly new and fully equipped. Fire, suspected arson, prompted a $250 reward from Pistancia merchants. Total loss around $17,000 with $9,000 insured. Monte Goodin unloaded a car of ice Wednesday.
