Duncan McGillvray left for New York to inspect auto makes and order three fifty horsepower carriages for the Albuquerque Estancia Automobile Line. He will be away three to four weeks visiting the east after loading the cars for the valley. The road work will be pushed to prevent delays and McGillvray’s familiarity with the machinery is expected to keep breakage and trouble to a minimum.

Seven Years For Glare Valles Acquitted In Estancia Trial
The territory case against Domingo Valles for the Col J F Chaves murder at Pines Wells on Nov 26 1904 concluded with a twelve hour jury deliberation and a verdict of acquittal just before midnight. Valles, who had been in confinement since Nov 29 1904, walked free as the court discharged the case amid approval from local business leaders. Bond for Jacobo Sedillo was refused and he was sent to Otero County jail. Irion v Irion yielded an absolute divorce and child custody for the plaintiff. Jap Clark received seven years hard labor with an appeal noted. A habeas corpus case involved Genobebo Aragon custody. the minor remains with the father. Drs Mason Morris and Barton faced health license charges resolved by a facts hearing. Celso Archuleta was ordered committed to the territorial asylum.

D B Morrill returned from Mountain Park where he attended the Lincoln Baptist Association. The gathering drew a large attendance and saw the work expanded with a colporteur and a Sunday School Missionary. Rev R P Pope was rehired as missionary at a $100 salary raise, bringing this year’s pay to $700.

Public Schools To Open In Estancia District
The Estancia district school board announced classes start on the first Monday of September, the second day. W. R. Shelton will be principal for the higher grades, with Mollie Rowe in charge of the primary department. An intermediate teacher is pending. The term will run at least eight months, with possible extension if funds allow and the school satisfies patrons.
